It is with deep sadness that we have to announce that Andy Leslie, DRFC Financial Director, passed away in the early hours of this morning.
A long term supporter of Doncaster RFC, Andy has been an essential component to operations at Castle Park since his appointment to the Board of Directors in 2011.
Universally popular with colleagues, both in professional rugby and Castle Park, Andy submersed himself within his role – truly embracing and caring for all aspects of the Club.
In addition to Andy’s work within the Club’s finances he was also a very active sponsor through his firm accountancy firm Broderick and Leslie.
Former President Steve Lloyd commenting on Andy’s sad passing said. “In rugby, as in life, people come along now and then who appear more special than others. Andy Leslie was just such a man.
“Over the past years, Andy has put his heart and soul into Doncaster RFC, working tirelessly in the background to ensure the club finances run smoothly whilst also adding his own words of wisdom to both the playing side and administrative side of the club. All of this carried out with immense humour and humility. A real club man and a dedicated supporter.
“Andy will be missed by all who knew him at DRFC and our heartfelt sympathies go out to his wife Alison and children Kirsten and Rebecca in this hour of awfulness.
“There will always be a welcome and a place of friendship for all of the Leslie family at Castle Park and Andy will never be forgotten.”
