Hi all,
With the continued difficulties we're experiencing on the drfc site i have posted tomorrow's squad directly to social media & here (PSB). I'd like to apologies for the inconvenience and rest assured we are doing all we can to get the site up and running and ensure this does not happen again. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, Michael. C'mon you Knights!
Knights side named for Welsh invasion.
Griff and the Knights coaching staff have named their match day twenty-two for the 2015/16 Greene King IPA Championship league opener.
The Knights welcome relegated Premiership outfit London Welsh to Castle Park and Clive has named the side charged with extending The Exiles losing run into the new season.
Paul Jarvis returns to the starting line up having sat out last Saturday’s victory over Blaydon to take his place at fullback. Mainstay winger Dougie Flockhart assumes his position on the right wing with new signing Will Hurrell claiming the number eleven jersey. In midfield Andy Bulumakau gets the nod at outside centre with Mat Clark shifting to twelve. There will be a full competitive debut for fly half Declan Cusack, he joins fellow new signing Michael Heaney for whom it will be a first competitive Knights start in over three seasons.
The Knights pack has a feel of familiarity about it and boasts a vast amount of Championship experience. Richard List, Ben Hunter and Colin Quigley make up the front row with Matt Challinor partnering Jon Phelan, who is immediately called into the starting XV having rejoined the squad from national duty on Monday, at lock. Latu Makaafi will hope to continue his form pre-season form alongside Michael Hills and Ollie Stedman who face off against their former employers.
Jack Bergmanas demonstrates his versatility once again to provide hooker cover with further front row replacement coming from Joe Sproston and WillGriff John. Tyler Hotson is set to make his first appearance of the new campaign with Alex Shaw completing the forwards. Tyson Lewis and Sam Edgerley give the coaching team plenty of attacking dynamism should they choose to use it and complete the twenty-two.
