Hi All,
Hope those of you who made the trip to Colwyn Bay (19 on the coach plus about 30 who made their own way there) enjoyed the match. As I mentioned on our Forum I don’t envy Steve Boden and his coaching staff having to select his teams for the early matches as there were some excellent performances.
Looking forward, we now have the new Premiership Rugby Cup and, after our opening home match against Cambridge on Friday, September 8th, we have two consecutive Saturday (much more sensible days) away matches in London at Scottish and Ealing Trailfinders on 16th and 23rd respectively. These matches will hopefully build us up for the matches against Bristol and Northampton that complete our pool stage.
We will hopefully be putting coaches on to both these matches and we hope that we can get as many as possible travelling with us to support the Knights in this new tournament. The coaches to both matches will leave Buckley’s garage in Blaxton at 9am and, following our usual pickups in Branton, Cantley and Armthorpe, we should arrive at Castle Park at 9.30am. If you plan to leave your car there please use the limestone park. From CP we will proceed along Balby Road to pick up opposite the Winning Post before heading south. For both matches the coach will leave our opponents ground for the return journey 30 minutes after the end of the game.
For both these trips the coaches will be costing us £1230 so we need to have as full a coach as possible please for both games. Whilst we plan to stick to our ceiling of £30 for our away games, for the Ealing game we will offer a reduction of £10 if you also went on the coach to London Scottish. I will post regular updates regarding how many have signed up for both games on the Knights Forum.
I would be grateful if you would text me to indicate that you will be travelling with us by noon on the Monday before each game. If you are booking places for others will you please let me have their names for my coach log.
As usual we will be running our popular Raffle and Guess the Score activities and volunteers are always welcome to help us on the day.
Looking forward to meeting up with as many as possible as we all do our best to support the Knights in the coming season.
Regards,
John
