2022 Under 20 Six Nations home fixture England v Wales
Under 20 Six Nations
England were the initial winners and they have gone on to be the tournament's most successful team, winning seven titles.
In their third-round match, Alan Dickens’ 2021 Grand Slam winning side host Wales at Castle Park, Doncaster, on Friday 25 February, KO 19:00.
England U20s Head Coach, Alan Dickens said, “…“Castle Park is an excellent facility and has hosted England Women with great success and no doubt they’ll do the same with the U20s.”
England U20
Dickens joins the Rugby Football Union from Northampton Saints where he was most recently defence coach for the Premiership side. They have appointed Alex Codling and James Tirrell as assistant coaches for the 2020 U20 Six Nations Championship. Former England forward Codling will be predominantly responsible for the forwards, while Tirrell (academy backs coach at Saracens) will assist head coach Alan Dickens with the backs and attack.
Lucas Brooke, son of All Black Zinzan Brooke is in the England squad as is Ethan Grayson, son of England fly-half Paul Grayson. Other squad members include Robin Hardwick, son of England prop Rob Hardwick and Iwan Stephens, son of Wales international Colin Stephens. Who will Colin Stephens cheer for?
Wales U20
Head coach Byron Hayward is ably assisted by Leigh Halfpenny who has joined up with the Wales coaching set-up for the duration of the Six Nations Under-20s whilst he recovers from injury. Shaun Connor, Craig Everett and Richard Kelly will assist head coach Byron Hayward. Dragons Academy coach Shaun Connor will lead on the breakdown while Cardiff Pathway coach Craig Everett heads up the defence. Richard Kelly returns to the fold as set-piece coach, having been involved previously when Gareth Williams was head coach of the U20s. The trio bring with them a wealth of experience on the coaching front.
England’s Six Nations progress
For their opener, England travelled to The DAM Health Stadium in Edinburgh, where they faced Scotland and won 24-41.
For their second round England went to Italy at Stadio Comunale di Monigo in Treviso and returned defeated 6-0.
England play Wales at Castle Park on Friday 25 February, KO 19:00.
Their fourth-round match sees the team play Ireland at Saracens’ StoneX Stadium on Saturday 12 March.
England’s final game of the tournament sees them travel to France to take on Les Bleus in a ‘Super Sunday’, at Stade Aime Giral, in Perpignan, (Sunday 20 March).
Their final round is at France’s Stade Aime Giral, Perpignan on 20 March.
Six Nations League table
After two rounds England find themselves third in the Six Nations table, with Ireland top after not losing, France are second on equal league points after winning a try and a losing bonus point each. France have a points-scored difference 13 better than England although England have one more try than France. England have also had five fewer tries scored against them.
Wales are third, one league point below after winning a try but not a losing bonus point. Italy are fifth after one win but no bonus points and Scotland are sixth, yet to win a game.
Scotland have, however won a try bonus point when they scored four tries against England in the first round.

Welsh try-scorers
Wales’s only points against Ireland was a late consolation try scored by winger Oli Andrew but his try was unconverted.
In their last outing against Scotland, Wales overcame a 0-7 half time score to finish 26-13 winners. Scotland led for most of the match but tries by Captain and back row Alex Mann, centre Joe Hawkins and winger Harri Houston turned the tide before a last-gasp score from replacement back row Morgan Morse secured the bonus point.
Friday’s game
As mentioned, previous encounters have resulted in close scores. So far in this Six Nations both teams have played two, won one and lost one. It’s too close to call but wearing rose-tinted glasses allows the glimmer than England have scored an extra bonus point and have a points difference 46 points better.
