Has anyone heard anything regarding when the club will start training? Perhaps an announcement from the club updating us on their plans would be most efficacious. Even light twice weekly sessions to start team building and getting the players reacquainted to group sessional activity would be of benefit methinks.
It would also be welcome if we got updates on plans etc. moving forwards - maybe a fortnightly update or the likes.
Do we now think that some news may be released regarding thoughts on when the Championship could start pre-season training. Hints of November for matches which would mean if Bodes wants his 8 to 10 weeks he best get things moving.....appreciating that all players have individual fitness plans already we all know the best thing is to get boots on the ground.
Yes, distancing rules will still need to be adhered to and yes COVID is still present, if we wait for it to go away we won't see rugby again.
If the test on supporters pans out do we suspect numbers may be restricted or do we think our usual 1K ish crowd is ok on a ground our size? Do we suspect bar / food and toilet facilities may need to be reviewed?
Trying to generate a few discussions here, because when I logged on and I am sure I saw tumbleweed blow across the screen.....
Steve Lloyd, along with other chairmen, has said that there is no appetite for rugby behind closed doors across the championship. Michael Casey has, I hear, been wrestling with the logistics of trying to accommodate season ticket holders in a socially distanced manner which he likened to solving a Rubik's cube. If seating people is that great a challenge, the concourse must be even more so. On the other hand, pubs are open and operating, safely or otherwise. It's worth noting that infections are on the rise again as restrictions have been relaxed!
Other sports have been allowed to resume but we have ample evidence of Covid infections as a consequence. At premiership level with large playing squads that may be bearable, but losing three or four players - let's say front row - out of a small squad could only lead to cancellation and fixture chaos.
I am an optimist by nature, but I am struggling to see an early return to regular rugby without enormous risks.

Harlequins are planning to allow 3.5K in a 14k stadium attend a match this week, www.rugbyworld.com/news/rugby-to-stage-first-pilot-matches-with-fans-112194 . As a rough guide, and if this is the ratio, then the Knights could possibly allow 1,250 in attendance around the stadium inclusive of, in the region of, 400 seated. Plenty of if's and but's in this, however, a starting point. As Jamie mentions though there needs to be a form of testing delivered pre-entry with no players allowed in the seating area for protection for all.

This is a message from Dave Townend about Doncaster Phoenix return to training. It may gives us a clue about the Knights'return!
...The Phoenix lads and Demons ladies have been in training for a few weeks now, following all necessary protocols whilst also of course social distancing. However, we are making progress and next week will see clubs move to stage D (or four) of a six stage RFU plan to getting back to some normality and this will allow for some adapted contact training which permits some low and medium risk activities...
Here is hoping this is the case Jamie. I am going stir crazy - work, sleep, no rugby repeat. Although my liver is loving it, as my alcohol consumption has dropped off to virtually zero and I can't be having a happy liver now can I.
I’m paying £10 per month for the BT Sports App on my phone. I’m watching 6 Premiership games a week which I stream in HD onto my Smart TV. I also get all the other things associated like interviews with referees and master classes. This has whetted my appetite for the restart of the championship.
A word to the wise isn't necessary - it's the stupid ones that need the advice
kenner: Just a Question if I may? Why after a season and on to the second can we not get an actual picture of Aaron Carpenter on the players site? Did not someone just take team photos?
Sept 21, 2017 19:35:08 GMT
Sir Spicious: I fear there are rumours that Aaron may, in fact, be a vampire and as such his image does not reflect in mirrors nor can it be captured in a photo. I should, however, warn you this may be fake news.

thomasmachin: It would appear that if we are to replace the departing players we had better be quick or all the available players will be signed by Ealing ,Coventry and Cornish Pirates!

barbelhunter: What a great re signing that is.

donnyknightsfan: that was absolutely dire today almost from start to finish apart from a spell in the 2nd half when we looked OK. players don't look motivated enough to me. they need a kick up the backside. the next two games v Bedford and Irish look a tough ask now.

donnyknightsfan: after yesterday's showing a new attacking coach and structure is needed ASAP. our attack is really poor. why don't we ever look to create space?. you're not going to beat championship defences by just running straight at them.

thomasmachin: I would support any reasonable suggestion to support the Club

Sir Spicious: Sorry, Lock. I think most of us forget to check the Shoutbox so it wasn't bad manners that we ignored you, more bad habits. Welcome to the chat. Look forward to your contributions. New voices are always welcome.
