On another thread, I suggested that we might all pool our ideas as to how we could help the club increase our home crowds. The first response posted was from Charger and I have copied his ideas below. Perhaps, going forward, we could use this thread to post our ideas. Regarding Chargers's ideas I am going to get my grandson to introduce me to Twitter when he gets home from school so I can understand how it works.
"John, I agree I think there are ideas we could suggest that may help the club raise the profile and enthusiasm of potential attendees to keep us occupied in the close season. For example, on Twitter we now have over 5000 followers, that has virtually doubled over the season. Clearly many will be followers from other clubs but even if only 50% were Knights fans and we could get them to attend we would be at the 2000 mark. Reality is the Club doesn't keep people informed enough through the website, Twitter,Facebook, Instagram etc. we haven't moved into the 21st Century for using instant social media, our competitors have! I know more about them than Donny! I live in London a lot of the time but have a season ticket, I want to feel involved as I don't hear the chat and rumours. I couldn't get to the dinner last night but would loved to have felt part if it - live through e.g. Twitter., instead I had to wait until almost 24 hrs later for the web post. Titans (only 2700 followers) were posting on Twitter all their award winners live, nothing from Donny other the Andy Bulumakau who is a big Tweeter. If we want people to attend, the club needs to think first about the fans (their customers), enthuse them, keep in touch with them every day. See Bristol on Twitter and you will see why they have a big fan base- 24,600 followers on Twitter, news every day, videos /interviews every day etc. you can't help but be interested. They also clearly also get sponsorship (Audi) through posting these and the publicity. Anyway enough from me, just food for thought?"
