To keep the Forum moving - last season the RFU announced the 2018/19 fixtures on 22nd June. That is not to say they will be announced on the same day this year but it gives us a rough idea as to when the 2019/20 fixtures will be announced.
We know that London Irish have been promoted and Newcastle Falcons were relegated to and from the Premiership.
Richmond have gone down the National One and Ampthill and district are starting this season in the Championship.
Depending on if Carnegie go bust or if they survive as a part-time team will determine if there are 11 or 12 teams in the Championship next season.
If Carnegie withdraw before the end of July the RFU can state who will take their place. Probaby Richmond. After that date it would be a 11 team league.
I suspect Carnegie are hoping to hang on and get the RFU monies for the season. There is talk of no relegation this coming season ( expansion of Prem. a possibility) if that comes to pass they may have a couple of seasons to find more monies.
Winning isn't everything, it just makes the beer taste better,
Just reaffirms my (and many others) disinterest in this farce of a competition. I will not be bothering. Also wonder whether those who chose to watch rugby at lower levels thro September and October, will return to Castle Park when Championship action does start.
Bill Hunt, although I agree with you that the competition is nothing but a farce, I also believe that it is a good opportunity for both young and fringe players to show what they are made of. It is also a very good venue for socialising with friends.
As your season ticket covers these cup games, why waste money be missing the game you have already paid for?
I don't really understand why there is such a late start to the season even if there is a World Cup happening. If we were waiting for the cup to end then fair enough but waiting until it starts seems pointless. National Leagues are starting as normal so why not us? We have only one preseason announced for 31st August then nothing for three weeks until we have the opening cup matches.

kenner: Just a Question if I may? Why after a season and on to the second can we not get an actual picture of Aaron Carpenter on the players site? Did not someone just take team photos?
Sept 21, 2017 19:35:08 GMT
Sir Spicious: I fear there are rumours that Aaron may, in fact, be a vampire and as such his image does not reflect in mirrors nor can it be captured in a photo. I should, however, warn you this may be fake news.

thomasmachin: It would appear that if we are to replace the departing players we had better be quick or all the available players will be signed by Ealing ,Coventry and Cornish Pirates!

donnyknightsfan: that was absolutely dire today almost from start to finish apart from a spell in the 2nd half when we looked OK. players don't look motivated enough to me. they need a kick up the backside. the next two games v Bedford and Irish look a tough ask now.

donnyknightsfan: after yesterday's showing a new attacking coach and structure is needed ASAP. our attack is really poor. why don't we ever look to create space?. you're not going to beat championship defences by just running straight at them.
