I presume most if not all of you will have seen our league fixture list on our website commencing with our away game at Coventry on the weekend of Sept 17th/19th. As soon as I have exact dates for each of our games I will let you know. Prior to our league games we have a “friendly” away against Newcastle Falcons on a Saturday, September 4th.
I would also like to advise you of our provisional plans in respect of travelling to our away leagues games, excluding those at Jersey and Pirates where traditionally we all make our own way.
I have spoken to Richard Buckley, the owner of the coach company we use and he has advised me that, all of their coaches are of modern design with high standard ventilation systems which will be on throughout our journeys. They have an enhanced cleaning regime including using a “fogging machine” which uses a fine spray to apply a chemical solution to sanitise all surfaces. Following the latest advice they have been given they can use all 49 seats as they are all forward facing and they provide sanitised gel for you to use as you get on and off the coach. You will be asked to wear a face mask when you get on the coach which you can take off as soon as you sit down. However the masks have to be replaced if you stand up or move around such as when I collect in fares, our volunteers sell raffle or Guess the Score tickets, when handing out prizes or when distributing goodies, etc. Richard is quite happy for us to continue taking alcohol and food onto the coach.
In respect of the Falcons game on September 4th, I have provisionally booked a coach which will leave Buckley’s garage at 11.30am. After picking up in Branton, Cantley and Armthorpe we should arrive at the club by noon. From there we will pick up opposite the Winning Post in Balby before heading north. For the return trip we will leave Falcons approximately 30 minutes after the end of game. The cost for the return trip will be £15 for adults and £10 for juniors.
I would be grateful if you would advise me as soon as possible whether you wish to reserve a seat on the Newcastle coach please. Could you also please let me know whether you will be likely to travel with us to some of our other away games when possible or whether you wish me to delete you from the texts I send out for future matches.
Best wishes,
