If we eliminate cheap penalties (say that each year though), we will do well John. Was pleased with the spirit, and the determination to keep defending to the end. The new guys did well generally speaking but we need greater strength in depth front row props methinks - appreciate that is easier said than done, Ealing bossed it in that area.
Going to watch the match again at some point to check out individual performances further.
Good comments Martin. Let’s get a few more of our supporters contributing please. After all, it’s over 10 months since you all last had a chance to exercise your tonsils. I’m sure any of our new players who may log on might be interested in any positive comments.
I think there were a lot of positive signs from the Knights on Saturday. Having never played as a unit the team seemed well bound and the willingness to run with ball in hand was both entertaining and effective. I have high hopes for this and next season based on what we saw.
I thought it was a promising performance having come into the match with hardly any contact training against a good team already up and running. Good with ball in hand and tried their best in defence but made a few errors which you'd expect in the circumstances. Sure we will see changes over the next couple of games to give everyone game time in preparation of the hoped for season start. Agree with others that Sam Graham stood out along with Volpi and Bacon. After so long without a game it was great to see a game and hope it's the start of some normality returning, however slowly.

It was wonderful to see the Knights back in action after such a prolonged period. The match against Ealing was always going to be difficult as a first game but the Knights, in my opinion, gave them a good game and learnt a lot.
I was really impressed by the defence which held up well for significant periods unlike past years where we were a bit leaky. Scrum improved as the match went on and will no doubt improve further as they play. I would not single out individuals at this point in the "season" as it is a little early but you can see some massive potential in the both the backs and the forwards.
Looking forward to the rest of the games and the season proper when it starts and am hoping that we can return to Castle Park for some glorious games.
Great posts from all I really enjoyed the performance from Donny I particularly enjoyed the display by the young hooker who is showing great potential. I think Ealing will be a threat to all and I thought their pack was impressive. Just great to see the team back in action and to look at Castle Park again. Missed the banter and micky taking not to say the beer from the clubhouse I hope the matches an in particular the away trips all take place
kenner: Just a Question if I may? Why after a season and on to the second can we not get an actual picture of Aaron Carpenter on the players site? Did not someone just take team photos?

Sir Spicious: I fear there are rumours that Aaron may, in fact, be a vampire and as such his image does not reflect in mirrors nor can it be captured in a photo. I should, however, warn you this may be fake news.

funches: How come there's only 3 games this weekend? Is it just scheduling or?
Mar 10, 2018 10:24:11 GMT
thomasmachin: It would appear that if we are to replace the departing players we had better be quick or all the available players will be signed by Ealing ,Coventry and Cornish Pirates!

barbelhunter: What a great re signing that is.

donnyknightsfan: that was absolutely dire today almost from start to finish apart from a spell in the 2nd half when we looked OK. players don't look motivated enough to me. they need a kick up the backside. the next two games v Bedford and Irish look a tough ask now.

rodders: A bit random this one but are any Knights fans travelling to the Jersey game on Friday 1st March flying from East Midlands on the 10.55 flight out. 2 of us are looking for a lift to East Midlands airport unexpectedly. Happy to share costs of travel

donnyknightsfan: after yesterday's showing a new attacking coach and structure is needed ASAP. our attack is really poor. why don't we ever look to create space?. you're not going to beat championship defences by just running straight at them.

thomasmachin: I would support any reasonable suggestion to support the Club

Sir Spicious: Sorry, Lock. I think most of us forget to check the Shoutbox so it wasn't bad manners that we ignored you, more bad habits. Welcome to the chat. Look forward to your contributions. New voices are always welcome.
