On the song theme of the present climate i have The Knack with My Carona and Paul Simon with the lyrics in Me and Julio down by the school yard "Goodbye Rosie the queen of Corona." Im now trying to link "come on Eileen" to covit-19 i really do need to get out more.
Watched the Knights vs Pirates from 2011 this afternoon. I'd forgotten about David McIlwaine and Michael Keating. There were several other faces I was struggling to name. The blind side flanker with a mop of blond hair, for instance. The props supporting Bodes. Not sure who was at 10. Was Wes Davies on the wing? If anyone else watched it you must surely have a better memory than me.
The team sheet for both Knights and Pirates is on DRFC web page. Jack Yeandle was one prop, Alex Brown another and Bradford was the mop haired No.7. Tom Luke at fly half I always rated, and PJ Gidlow at centre. Oli Goss was elusive but could run into trouble. Lee Audis was a sub. He had a serious car accident not long after this game and was in a coma for a time. His recovery was slow and I wonder how he is doing. Chippenham Rugby Club was his original home club.
Watching the game I found myself looking at some of the high tackles and thinking you cant get away with that now, and the scrums - they make the modern day scrum look civilised!!
Thank you, Bill. Never thought to look at the website. Generally agree with what you say though I always thought Ollie Goss was a bit of a liability. I fancy we signed Tom Luke from the Pirates. We had two Browns in the front row at that time. Am I right in thinking one of them went to Exeter with Jack Yeandle?
Cut and paste from the web site, Tom Davies at loose head was recognisable by the padding on his right arm, following a nasty break earlier in his career. Don't think Jack Yeandle ever played prop, but will be corrected.

Winning isn't everything, it just makes the beer taste better,
kenner: Just a Question if I may? Why after a season and on to the second can we not get an actual picture of Aaron Carpenter on the players site? Did not someone just take team photos?
Sept 21, 2017 19:35:08 GMT
Sir Spicious: I fear there are rumours that Aaron may, in fact, be a vampire and as such his image does not reflect in mirrors nor can it be captured in a photo. I should, however, warn you this may be fake news.

funches: How come there's only 3 games this weekend? Is it just scheduling or?
Mar 10, 2018 10:24:11 GMT
thomasmachin: It would appear that if we are to replace the departing players we had better be quick or all the available players will be signed by Ealing ,Coventry and Cornish Pirates!

barbelhunter: What a great re signing that is.

donnyknightsfan: that was absolutely dire today almost from start to finish apart from a spell in the 2nd half when we looked OK. players don't look motivated enough to me. they need a kick up the backside. the next two games v Bedford and Irish look a tough ask now.

rodders: A bit random this one but are any Knights fans travelling to the Jersey game on Friday 1st March flying from East Midlands on the 10.55 flight out. 2 of us are looking for a lift to East Midlands airport unexpectedly. Happy to share costs of travel

donnyknightsfan: after yesterday's showing a new attacking coach and structure is needed ASAP. our attack is really poor. why don't we ever look to create space?. you're not going to beat championship defences by just running straight at them.

thomasmachin: I would support any reasonable suggestion to support the Club

Sir Spicious: Sorry, Lock. I think most of us forget to check the Shoutbox so it wasn't bad manners that we ignored you, more bad habits. Welcome to the chat. Look forward to your contributions. New voices are always welcome.
