Perhaps it just needs a bit of getting used to it, I can see some of the benefits that it is offering however I am still accustomed to the previous version so finding new articles quickly is still a tad awkward. I will therefore give it the benefit of the doubt for a few weeks and then draw my conclusion.
I know I am old fashioned and naturally don’t like change so I won’t comment on the new lay out other than to say I just click on News on the top line and this bypasses the adverts for forthcoming games, etc.
The silence on the web site at the moment is deafening, Has the club gone into lock down? Been nothing on about watching six nations etc. They all must be on holiday.
I find it a bit frustrating that even our own events aren't published more fully and further in advance. Nor details of scores and scorers etc from Phoenix games and Mini Juniors/Colts League and Cup results...lets bombard folk with as much info as they can handle!
I was at CP on Sunday lunch to watch the Colts, only to find that the women were also at home and on the main pitch there was some sort of three way representative match fixture??? I've also seen on the YRUFC Pitchero site that there's a Yorkshire U15's game at CP coming up, but nothing from the club that might get me through the door as a local rugby fan?
Also tomorrow afternoon both the AOC and BUCS teams are at home almost back to back at 2pm (Brooksby - Leicester) and 6.30pm (Newcastle Uni with the league on the line) - I've floated the idea of screening a Knights playoff game from the archive on the TV in the clubhouse between times to make an afternoon of it but as yet even the games haven't been advertised??? Sometimes they get cancelled for all sorts of reasons but if that's the case publish the cancellation rather than leaving the notification to the last minute.
I know in amateur clubs this all needs organising and someone to do it but this is a professional outfit trying to grow its pathway - so tell people about it!
The club can always use as many folk through the door as it can get and there's nothing better than self promotion to whet appetites and give the club even more of a club feel. If we want to attract and keep new faces in the club let's let everyone know what's going off...even if it is a Wednesday afternoon...you might get a dozen, next time two dozen....then 50, it all adds up - a few pints, a few chip butties or whatever, they might even add to the Knights crowd!!!
Couldn't agree more with the above post. The website is 'DRFC' so more of what the club does well as a whole should be publicised, particularly around the mini's colts and women. How else do we grow awareness, sponsorship and crowds?
International Women's Day on 8th March was a missed opportunity to publicise the female participation at CP on the website and social media.
Club have posted tonight's BUCS game as 6pm KO - it could be with a journey back to Newcastle after the game ahead of the visitors but the original list says 6.30 which aids getting a few in the crowd after working days.
Yet again, great result from the Academy to win the game and secure the title but why are we not shouting it from the rooftops with pictures, comments and even an article about it on the Web site. There seems to be more on Facebook that the web site at the moment.
kenner: Just a Question if I may? Why after a season and on to the second can we not get an actual picture of Aaron Carpenter on the players site? Did not someone just take team photos?
Sept 21, 2017 19:35:08 GMT
Sir Spicious: I fear there are rumours that Aaron may, in fact, be a vampire and as such his image does not reflect in mirrors nor can it be captured in a photo. I should, however, warn you this may be fake news.

funches: How come there's only 3 games this weekend? Is it just scheduling or?
Mar 10, 2018 10:24:11 GMT
thomasmachin: It would appear that if we are to replace the departing players we had better be quick or all the available players will be signed by Ealing ,Coventry and Cornish Pirates!
Apr 20, 2018 8:14:16 GMT
barbelhunter: What a great re signing that is.

donnyknightsfan: that was absolutely dire today almost from start to finish apart from a spell in the 2nd half when we looked OK. players don't look motivated enough to me. they need a kick up the backside. the next two games v Bedford and Irish look a tough ask now.

rodders: A bit random this one but are any Knights fans travelling to the Jersey game on Friday 1st March flying from East Midlands on the 10.55 flight out. 2 of us are looking for a lift to East Midlands airport unexpectedly. Happy to share costs of travel

donnyknightsfan: after yesterday's showing a new attacking coach and structure is needed ASAP. our attack is really poor. why don't we ever look to create space?. you're not going to beat championship defences by just running straight at them.

thomasmachin: I would support any reasonable suggestion to support the Club

lock: Hi, I'm new to the Knights Forum. Hello everyone!
Jun 4, 2020 10:15:57 GMT
Sir Spicious: Sorry, Lock. I think most of us forget to check the Shoutbox so it wasn't bad manners that we ignored you, more bad habits. Welcome to the chat. Look forward to your contributions. New voices are always welcome.
