Another dismal day on the road. Did the travelling faithful have a right to expect more after what was generally perceived as signs of improvement the previous week? I think the answer is yes, but sadly it turned out to be another false dawn.
It would be easy to blame a capricious wind that chose to favour Hartpury in the first half but declined to return Knights the favour. We might scratch our heads over some of the refereeing. The truth, however, is much closer to home. Until we stop conceding needless and plentiful penalties, until we can master the basics of ball retention, until we execute accurate passing and until we start supporting the player in possession we will be the directors of our own downfall.
I remain hopeful that corner we need to turn is not too far distant and may be located in the area of Headingley. With that belief lodged firmly in my heart, I shall hold my nose against the whiff of injustice that hangs over Emerald Stadium and do my best to encourage the Knights to deliver next week the brand of rugby of which I know they are capable.
If I should choose not to post again in the near future, a Merry Christmas to all our forum members and to all the Knights' players and staff.

I am sorry to hear this sobering report so close to the festive period. I too could/can see promise once the full team return but it appears from your report we may have gone a little backwards. I too look forward to the Leeds game with the opportunity for the scoreboard to move significantly in our favour and again raise hopes of a good 2020.
From various posts over several weeks there appears to be lots of promise but no success on the park. It seems fortunate that Leeds have been in such a total mess or Knights would be propping up the league? What on earth is the matter, are the players simply not good enough, is their leadership in question or is the coaching stale? I would be delighted for Knights to put 50 past Leeds next weekend?

kenner: Just a Question if I may? Why after a season and on to the second can we not get an actual picture of Aaron Carpenter on the players site? Did not someone just take team photos?
Sept 21, 2017 19:35:08 GMT
Sir Spicious: I fear there are rumours that Aaron may, in fact, be a vampire and as such his image does not reflect in mirrors nor can it be captured in a photo. I should, however, warn you this may be fake news.

thomasmachin: It would appear that if we are to replace the departing players we had better be quick or all the available players will be signed by Ealing ,Coventry and Cornish Pirates!

donnyknightsfan: that was absolutely dire today almost from start to finish apart from a spell in the 2nd half when we looked OK. players don't look motivated enough to me. they need a kick up the backside. the next two games v Bedford and Irish look a tough ask now.

donnyknightsfan: after yesterday's showing a new attacking coach and structure is needed ASAP. our attack is really poor. why don't we ever look to create space?. you're not going to beat championship defences by just running straight at them.
