It is sad that there is no Jamie or John B to have previewed and give their views on the game. I thought the lads worked hard yet again and played some good rugby in spells and would beat many other teams with the effort they showed today along with the return of players. Hopefully Rory and Andy's injuries aren't too bad. On a wider note is the loss of these long-term supporters to the club forum indicative of the clubs poor communication skills and ability to manage supporter relations? On a positive note, I had been going to post asking where the halftime youngsters on the pitch were but at last for the first time in months we had some kids games at half time. This should be done at every home game, how else do you get parents involved and future supporters at our club.
Three interesting postings that I seen this morning.
On Rolling Maul website a poster called Maire23 from Nottingham says that “as a neutral watching the Falcon’s match today, I have to say Donny put up one hell of a fight. Agree that the score line was flattering to the Falcons”.
Then two tweets from Mark Smith, the Media Manager at the Falcons. In his first he says that “his competition for the best away Scran (food for the non-Geordies) is closed as he enjoyed our Cow Pie that much”. In his second tweet Mark says “ Great match experience at @doncasterknight today. They really do get a lot of things right and seem very supporter-focused”
If any of our forum members or guests come across similar postings about the Club why not post them under the appropriate thread on this Forum.
Let’s start being positive about the Club again; unfortunately many of the comments seem very negative. By all means have your grouses but don’t overlook the very many positive comments we receive in the media, social media and elsewhere about the club, the Knights and Academy and our facilities.
As far as the game ysterday I thoroughly enjoyed it. The lads were creative, hard working and deserved much more from the game. The odd pass not going to hand or a wrong decision did spoil the performance for me. If they had gone to hand who knows what the result would have been. I spoke to John Wells, Falcons coach, as we left the stand and he said his team knew they had been in a game and the score flattered them.
Here's to next week at Hartbury and hope the lads take the same skills and workrate there.
The boys came off the field at the end thinking it was one of those games where if we’d really turned it on we could have put on another load of points, but fair dues to Doncaster because they put up a hell of a fight.
“I don’t think the score-line reflected how the game went, and the margin should have been much closer because Doncaster acquitted themselves far better than you’d think when you see a score of 43-14 against them.

I went to Castle Park yesterday and was pleased with what I saw. thought Donny played very well and gave a very good side a tough old time for 65 minutes. Newcastle stepped it up in the latter stages but I thought it was a marked improvement on previous performances. hopefully onwards and upwards towards the Hartpury game now. hopefully can get a win there to boost the confidence before Leeds. good crowd yesterday as well, 1,468.
I enjoyed the game, and the effort against the visiting Premiership outfit. I also really enjoyed the cow pie - as good as ever! Better atmosphere when the crowd reaches a certain size too - hopefully a sign of more to come when we finally get another home game in 2020......
I too enjoyed the game on Saturday, lots of positives in the game for the knights to take to Harpury. The coach had a number of new players to blend with the regular players and Rory playing out of his normal position doing well. I like the look of the number 13 Doherty he is good. Also the new Samoan Lokotui at times he reminded me of Latu with his tackling. The sea air at Hull has done Mc Coll the world of good as he had a good game too. Packman showed some real pace on the wing and I am looking forward to seeing how he fairs against Championship opposition. Impressed with the forwards with more to return from injuries. I would like to see the backs come good as a whole not just one man hit ups with Tom, Sam or Gus making them tick and declaring war on the championship for the rest of the season. This email has also gone to Santa.
Great to see a half decent crowd at last, makes such a difference to the atmosphere both during the game and in the bar. If we can get Steadman and Smith back fit I think our forwards will be a match for most teams ( oh and Colin !) the 2 new international flankers look very decent acquisitions. Let's beat Leeds and go into 2020 on a positive note !!

kenner: Just a Question if I may? Why after a season and on to the second can we not get an actual picture of Aaron Carpenter on the players site? Did not someone just take team photos?
Sept 21, 2017 19:35:08 GMT
Sir Spicious: I fear there are rumours that Aaron may, in fact, be a vampire and as such his image does not reflect in mirrors nor can it be captured in a photo. I should, however, warn you this may be fake news.

thomasmachin: It would appear that if we are to replace the departing players we had better be quick or all the available players will be signed by Ealing ,Coventry and Cornish Pirates!

donnyknightsfan: that was absolutely dire today almost from start to finish apart from a spell in the 2nd half when we looked OK. players don't look motivated enough to me. they need a kick up the backside. the next two games v Bedford and Irish look a tough ask now.

donnyknightsfan: after yesterday's showing a new attacking coach and structure is needed ASAP. our attack is really poor. why don't we ever look to create space?. you're not going to beat championship defences by just running straight at them.
